The 5 Best Oklahoma Barbershops to Book Your Next Cut

oklahoma-barbershops
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Service Variety: We compared each shop’s actual menu, including standard cuts, fades, and beard work. Those that also offer long-hair services, designs, waxing, and kids' cuts earned extra points.

Pricing and Service Fit: We checked published prices and what each listed service includes, such as shampooing, neck shaves, beard trims, or style add-ons.

Booking Convenience: We looked at online scheduling, barber selection, walk-in availability, memberships, and same-day booking where available.

Hours and Accessibility: We compared weekday, evening, and weekend availability so readers can identify which schedule suits them best.

My boyfriend walked out of a walk-in barbershop last spring looking like he’d lost a fight with a hedge trimmer. The fade started somewhere around his ear and just kept climbing.

I’ve got my own hair salon locked in and never think twice about it, but clearly his grooming needed a fresh start. So we went hunting for the best barbershops in Oklahoma City that could deliver.

A good shop should nail the fade, tidy the beard, and actually listen before the clippers start buzzing. Bonus points if booking doesn’t require three phone calls and a prayer!

These are the Oklahoma City spots we found for guys who know exactly what they want (and those who just say “make me look sharper”).

How much do services at a barbershop in Oklahoma cost?

A standard men’s haircut in Oklahoma usually costs around $25 to $35. Prices depend on the shop, barber, and service.

Budget or traditional barbershops often charge $20 to $25. These are solid picks for straightforward cuts and trims.

Mid-range shops typically cost $30 to $40. You may get more styling options or a more polished experience.

Premium grooming lounges can run $45 to $60 or more. Specialty fades, beard work, and added grooming services can push the price higher.

1. Midtown Barbers OKC

midtown-barbers-okc

Website

Address: 820 N Western Ave
Contact: (405) 236-2423
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7 AM-7 PM; Saturday, 8 AM-4 PM

Midtown Barbers OKC feels like a solid pick when one haircut style definitely doesn’t fit everybody. Their menu covers short cuts, longer hair, grey blending, beard trims, and full head shaves without making things unnecessarily complicated.

We especially like that longer-haired clients get a dedicated one-hour service instead of being squeezed into a standard appointment.

The straight-razor beard trim sounds like a nice upgrade too, with hot and cold towels adding a bit of old-school barbershop polish.

Booking online is straightforward, and you can choose a specific barber rather than rolling the dice on whoever’s free.

Military personnel, veterans, first responders, and teachers can qualify for advertised discounts.

The main catch is the cheaper clipper clean-up, which only covers the sides and back. It doesn’t include bald fades or shampoo, so you’ll need another service if you want the full works.

Pros

  • Services for both short and long hair
  • Beard trims, grey blending, and head shaves available
  • Straight-razor beard trim includes hot and cold towels
  • Online booking lets you choose your barber
  • Discounts for military, veterans, first responders, and teachers

Cons

  • Clipper clean-up only covers the sides and back
  • Bald fades and shampoo aren’t included in the lower-cost clean-up service

Hands Down My Favorite Barbershop in the OKC Area

Hands down my favorite barbershop in the OKC area. The only place I go to anymore. Staff is always super kind, cool to chat with, professional, and highly skilled! Lounge area is living room worthy. Can confidently walk in and be taken care of by any of the team members. If you appreciate good people, great quality haircuts, and a friendly shop dog, this is the best place to go!

Chad Did a Fantastic Job With My Hair and Beard Trim

What a great barber shop. I had a wonderful experience right from the get-go. The German Shepherd dog made it feel very welcoming and anxious free environment. Chad did a fantastic job with my hair and beard trim. It was great to find a place that is prideful and skilled. Nice clean shop and all around great! I definitely recommend Midtown.

2. Lakeside Barbershop Oklahoma City

lakeside-barbershop-oklahoma-city

Website

Address: 7513 N May Ave
Contact: (405) 843-7637 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday, noon-5 PM; Tuesday-Friday, 9 AM-5:30 PM; Saturday, 9 AM-3 PM

Lakeside Barbershop has the kind of old-school charm my boyfriend was after, without feeling stuck in the past.

The shop describes itself as Oklahoma City’s oldest continuously operating barbershop, with roots at the same North May Avenue location since 1954.

The service menu covers regular cuts, fades, and beard trims. They also offer hot shaves, head shaves, clean-ups, and line-ups.

Beyond the service menu, we like that you can book directly with one of six barbers, especially if you’re loyal to a particular chair.

It’s a good middle ground for someone who wants classic barbering but still expects online booking to be easy. If you’re comparing it with local hair salons, this one leans much more traditional and grooming-focused.

The main drawback is the schedule, especially on Mondays and weekends. It opens at noon on Monday, closes at 3 PM on Saturday, and stays closed on Sunday.

Pros

  • Traditional cuts, fades, beard trims, and hot shaves
  • Full head shaves, clean-ups, and line-ups available
  • Separate online booking links for six barbers
  • Long-established North May Avenue location
  • Easy to stick with a preferred barber

Cons

  • Opens at noon on Mondays
  • Closes at 3 PM on Saturdays
  • Closed on Sundays

Took the Time to Understand What I Wanted

Stopped by Lakeside Barbershop in Oklahoma City and had a great experience. The shop has a clean, classic barbershop vibe, and the staff is welcoming and easy to talk to. My barber really took the time to understand what I wanted and delivered a sharp, precise cut. Attention to detail was impressive.

Never Been More Satisfied With a Haircut

I have been coming to Lakeside since 2012, and I have never been more satisfied with a haircut than I have with the ones that I have gotten there. Nick has been doing a wonderful job for the past 14 years cutting my hair, and I cannot sing his praises enough.

3. Tom’s Barbershop

tom-s-barbershop

Website

Address: 2815 NW 30th St
Contact: (405) 609-1080 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 AM-5 PM; Saturday, 9 AM-4 PM; Sunday, 11 AM-4 PM

Tom’s Barbershop keeps things refreshingly straightforward, which we appreciate. The Oklahoma City shop covers hot shaves, beard trims, clean-ups, and kids’ cuts on top of regular cuts and bald fades.

A standard haircut costs $30 and includes a neck shave, which feels like decent value for a classic finish.

Senior and buzz cuts are $20, and Sunday hours give you another shot at squeezing in a weekend trim.

We like that the pricing is easy to scan before you show up, especially if you prefer knowing the damage beforehand. Just keep in mind that prices can vary between Tom’s locations.

The main catch is that some extras are priced separately. Hard parts add $10, while beard trims run $20 to $30.

Pros

  • Standard haircut includes a neck shave
  • Offers bald fades, hot shaves, and beard trims
  • Kids’, senior, and buzz cuts available
  • Clear pricing on the main website
  • Open on Sundays

Cons

Never Had a Bad Haircut

When my previous barber retired, I went to several different barbers until I found Candy at Tom’s OKC Shop. In addition to the great haircuts, she is always friendly, and I enjoy talking to her. I’ve been going for several years now and have never had a bad haircut!

This Is Probably the Best My Beard Has Looked!

I’m a Barber from Missouri in town for the Thunder game. I really wanted to stop in at a local OKC shop while in town just to visit with the barbers from a different area than myself. Chris cut my hair and did a beard trim, and it was a great experience! He was super friendly and very experienced! Great conversation and a classic barbershop atmosphere! This is probably the best my beard has looked! Highly recommend stopping in for a cut and beard trim!

4. Elephant In The Room Oklahoma City Men’s Haircuts

elephant-in-the-room-oklahoma-city-men-s-haircuts

Website

Address: 5701 N Western Ave
Contact: (833) 348-7669
Hours: Monday-Friday, 11 AM-7 PM; Saturday, 9 AM-6 PM

Elephant In The Room caught my eye with its $1 first-visit offer, which is about as low-risk as premium grooming gets.

That intro includes the haircut plus shampoo, conditioning, a hot towel, scalp massage, nape shave, face care, paraffin hand treatment, and a beverage.

The company says that the first dollar goes to Compassion International, which gives the deal a nice extra touch.

Beyond cuts, the menu covers beard trims, eyebrow waxing, straight-razor detailing, and other men’s grooming services.

I like the month-to-month membership setup for regulars who want discounted cuts and easier pre-booking. It makes sense for someone who treats haircuts like maintenance instead of an occasional rescue mission.

The catch is availability. Elephant In The Room says it’s typically about 95% booked, so non-members may have less flexibility during busy periods.

Pros

  • $1 introductory first-visit offer
  • Intro includes several premium grooming extras
  • Beard trims and eyebrow waxing available
  • Month-to-month membership option
  • Discounted cuts and easier pre-booking for members
  • First dollar is donated to Compassion International

Cons

  • Typically around 95% booked
  • Non-members may have less scheduling flexibility during busy periods

The Head Massage Was Absolutely Amazing

I had an excellent experience at Elephant in the Room with Christie! She did a fantastic job cutting my hair—professional, detailed, and friendly throughout the entire appointment.

The head massage was absolutely amazing and incredibly relaxing. It was the perfect addition to the haircut and made the whole experience feel premium and refreshing. I left feeling great and looking even better.

I highly recommend Christie and Elephant in the Room to anyone looking for a great haircut and outstanding service. I’ll definitely be back!

I Didn’t Expect the Hand Wax/Head Massage

Learned about this place from my brother who searched up on Google “best places to get a haircut”. Jalana cut my hair, which was great, and I didn’t expect the hand wax/head massage. It was all $1 (treatment would originally be $55) for the first visit, and I’m thinking about returning as I usually get a haircut every 4-5 months.

5. The Official Barber Lounge

Website

Address: 5811 S Western Ave
Contact: Office: (405) 225-1388 | Cell: (405) 706-6719
Hours: Monday, 9 AM-6 PM; Tuesday-Friday, 9 AM-7 PM; Saturday, 9 AM-5 PM

The Official Barber Lounge has a little more range than the typical guys-only setup, which I like for households with different haircut needs.

The menu covers men’s cuts, beard combos, custom designs, kids’ cuts, long-hair fades, and women’s or girls’ undercuts.

A regular men’s haircut is listed at $40, while a haircut with a beard trim runs $45. Booking through Acuity is straightforward, so you can lock in a time without playing phone tag.

I’d especially consider this place if one person wants a classic cut and another needs something more specialized. It keeps a few different grooming needs under one roof without feeling all over the place.

The main drawback is pricing. Specialty cuts start at $45, and Saturday appointments start at $45 too.

Pros

  • Men’s cuts and haircut-beard combos available
  • Kids’ cuts and women’s/girls’ undercuts offered
  • Custom designs and long-hair fades available
  • Easy online appointment booking
  • Good range of services for different haircut needs

Cons

  • Regular men’s haircut starts at $40
  • Specialty cuts can cost $45
  • Saturday appointments start at $45

Took the Time to Give Me a Great Trim

When you are out of town and need a good clean & tight trim, you know it’s hard to find what you really want. But Bryan took the time to give me a great trim and listened to what I was looking for…He is truly a Hair Artist…Bravo!

Setting Appointment Online as Well as Paying for Everything Before

I loved the fact of setting an appointment online as well as paying for everything before you even set foot into the shop. Everyone in the shop was friendly, especially Gabe, who went above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. Gave a clean cut and trimmed the beard and didn’t have the high price like the other barbers in the area.
