When we signed up with Tip Top K9, we were cautiously optimistic—our high-energy pup had become a bit of a handful. From the very first session, though, we saw why they have such a strong reputation.
Their obedience training program is structured, clear, and designed to help you actually communicate with your dog. We liked that the trainers didn’t just work on commands—they also focused on behavior correction and helped us understand why the dog was acting out.
Their facility is clean and well-organized, with a calm environment that didn’t overwhelm our pup. One thing that really stood out was their positive reinforcement method—it was effective and didn’t rely on fear-based tactics.

K9 University boasts over two acres of manicured land, climate-controlled indoor space, and multiple training fields, clearly designed for both efficiency and comfort. They’re well-known in Oklahoma City for handling basic obedience to behavioral issues.
Their program options include day camps, group classes, and long-term boarding school, all taught under what they call the “Perfect Balance” method. Most veterinarians in Oklahoma recommend them, which is a good sign in our books!
That said, we noted one clear downside—socialization is heavily restricted. While some group training elements exist, dogs aren’t encouraged to interact freely with each other.
We understand this might be due to liability and insurance policies, but it’s something to consider if you want your dog to build social skills alongside obedience.
