Going through grief while still staying present to handle paperwork, permits, and logistics for a meaningful service isn’t easy. It can take a toll on both our physical and mental well-being, yet we still want the best for our loved ones.
Honoring them beautifully isn’t just for them—it’s for us too. That’s why my team and I reviewed the best funeral services in Oklahoma City, from historic family-owned chapels to modern, budget-friendly cremation centers.
Keep reading to know more about the providers based on package inclusions, facility quality, and potential hidden fees!
How much do funerals cost in Oklahoma City?
A traditional funeral with burial in Oklahoma City can cost $6,500-$9,000, while direct cremation usually ranges from $800-$1,500. Cremation also requires a mandatory $200-$250 State Medical Examiner Permit fee, which some overlook.
1. Absolute Economical Funeral Home

Address: 7721 NW 10th St STE B
Phone: +1 405-787-9300
Business hours: 24/7
Tailoring funerals to personal wishes and cultural needs is an important aspect to consider when someone passes, so we like that Absolute Economical Funeral Home can provide multiple service options. Families can choose direct cremations, traditional funerals, and more.
We found that their simple cremation package is comprehensive, and payment includes the medical examiner permit, which others consider an additional cost. This package also covers removal, crematory fee, and paperwork, so you won’t have to guess and worry about inclusions.
That said, you also won’t have to guess about pricing since they have it posted on their website and list the inclusions for every package. Just note that death certificates aren’t part of standard services, and they have it as an add-on cost.
On a positive note, we appreciate how hands-on and responsive they are when it comes to keeping you in the loop, and they pretty much do the heavy lifting for the most part.
Helped us create a beautiful memorial
“From the moment we called we were treated in a kind and professional manner. They helped us create a beautiful memorial to our father at Ft Sill and answered all question we had regarding a military burial. Thank you for making this an easy process .”

Very thorough and very responsive
“Highly recommend this funeral home. Keith was totally awesome to work with me for a dear friends family regarding changes to his Tribute Book. We did it all over the phone out of state and he was very thorough and very responsive. He was so nice and patient with me during a very difficult time. He was a blessing to work with.”

2. Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service-South Chapel

Address: 7720 S Pennsylvania Ave
Phone: +1 405-682-1682
Business hours: 24/7
We like that Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service-South Chapel checks almost all boxes when it comes to funeral choices. They offer traditional funerals, cremation memorials, simple cremation, and even contemporary celebrations.
On that note, we have to commend their team for being experienced with culturally specific funerals and honoring special requests to reflect different traditions and beliefs.
Another thing we love is how they coordinate multiple details and things, like creating tribute videos, arranging catering, and even securing police escorts for cemetery processions. They give you the chance to personalize the service in meaningful ways.
Here’s the thing, though: you might be surprised that key items like visitation, memorial services, caskets, urns, plot, state taxes, and death certificates are excluded from base service pricing. So, make sure to get a good grasp before proceeding.
But if you do want to avoid any inflation and get ahead, you can choose to plan and lock in current prices to ease financial pressure down the line.
Very helpful and friendly
“The staff was very helpful and friendly. They were available to me whenever I had questions or concerns. They allowed me time and space when needed and nothing felt rushed or uncomfortable. I am so grateful to them for making a pleasant experience out of something hard to deal with for anyone.”

3. Resthaven Funeral Home

Address: 500 SW 104th S
Phone: +1 405-691-1661
Business hours: 24/7
Resthaven Funeral Home is good at taking into account requests and personalizing funeral or memorial services. For instance, their cremation services include direct cremation, cremation with a memorial, and family-focused tribute options with urns, niches, and memorial products.
Veteran families can also receive recognition and benefits that honor their loved one’s service and sacrifice.
And given the gravity in such a difficult time, we love that they somehow take the reins by handling death certificates, permits, and other necessary documentation.
It’s also a plus that they offer free professional interpreters to assist Spanish-speaking families with all funeral preparations and documentation.
On the downside, we feel a bit iffy after hearing about how strict they are with personal decorations left on the grounds; it’s common for them to remove them after a certain period.
Nonetheless, thanks to their on-site cemetery and memorial gardens, families don’t have to go through too much hassle since everything is in one location.
Warm and friendly
“Warm and friendly from the first contact. The staff was knowledgeable, helpful and supportive throughout.”

Treated with respect, care, and kindness
“From the moment we arrived at Resthaven, we were treated with respect, care, and kindness. Mrs. Lynn, who previously worked at Dignity, guided us every step of the way during our aunt’s funeral, patiently explaining and translating Vietnamese customs for us. She stayed through the entire service, making us feel comfortable and confident during a very difficult time. Hilarity, the director, was also amazing. We are truly grateful for their support.”

4. Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home

Address: 8805 NE 23rd St
Phone: +1 405-769-3362
Business hours: 24/7
We appreciate that Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home has the capacity to personalize services to truly honor the deceased’s unique story and legacy. They work with celebrants, clergy, or officiants to craft heartfelt tributes that reflect your loved one’s life.
Speaking of tribute, we like that they can provide programs like tribute movies, memory books, and keepsake programs to preserve memories. Thoughtful keepsakes can provide long-term comfort and remembrance for families.
Their support and assistance when it comes to essential arrangements and paperwork also get a nod from us. So, they can take care of filing death certificates, securing burial permits, assisting with insurance claims, and providing guidance on Social Security survivor benefits.
However, it’s a bummer that quoted service costs or packages don’t include items like caskets, urns, cemetery plots, or burial/cremation merchandise—they’re separate costs.
The silver lining? If any part of the services doesn’t meet expectations, they offer a refund for that portion of the service.
Caring, kind, and clear
“Working with Rulon and the staff at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home was simply incredible. During a very difficult and emotional time, Rulon was caring, kind, and clear on what decisions we needed to make, how to care for our loved one, and ultimately the service that we had at the funeral home was perfect. There isn’t one thing that could have been handled better. Highly recommend!”

5. Alternatives Cremation and Funeral Service

Address: 2813 NW 122nd St
Phone: +1 405-443-8085
Business hours: 24/7
If you’re interested in affordable direct cremation, we believe that Alternatives Cremation and Funeral Service is a solid choice. Their direct cremation usually starts at around $960, which includes transportation, crematory fees, and a basic urn.
On the flipside, this package doesn’t include the $200-$250 state-required cremation permit. So you’ll have to top up for this outside the service cost itself.
Other than that, most services are quite comprehensive, such as being able to personalize memorial options by inserting tribute videos, personalized stationery, and keepsake candles.
Another thoughtful touch we love is their online arrangement option. This is a convenient option for families or relatives who can’t make it to the service.
Lastly, it’s nice to know that Alternatives Cremation and Funeral Service can work closely with families to understand the deceased’s life story and tailor the service. We’ve heard many praises from families sharing how the meaningful services help them feel supported during grief.
So friendly and understanding
“Richard was so friendly and understanding. He is professional and very knowledgeable. Alternative cremation has helped me on two occasions. Both situations were handled with care and compassion. I would highly recommend this company when you are in need services for your loved one.”
