Ah, math… the subject that had me gritting my teeth and biting the ends of my pencils. If I could go back in time, I would ask my mom to take me to a tutor, because a little after-school learning session is better than getting low grades.
If you’re someone like me who doesn’t have an idea how to teach your child math, you probably need help. Take it from me, math homework will (very likely) lead to arguments with your child.
Let’s avoid that this time. So, here are the best math tutors we trust in OKC, who know exactly how to solve formulas and teach them!
How much is a math tutor in Oklahoma City?
A math tutor in Oklahoma City costs around $30 to $80 per hour. Some tutoring centers will start at $150 to $300 a month, depending on the number of sessions and subjects.
1. Mathnasium

Best For: Foundational gaps, test preparation, and homework help
Address: 14101 N May Ave
Contact: (405) 348-6284, [email protected]
Hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 12 pm – 7:30 pm
- Friday: 3 pm – 6:30 pm
- Saturday: 10 am – 2 pm
When it comes to math tutoring, Mathnasium will always be on the list. As their name suggests, they specialise in math, and this is exactly what we need to address a student’s learning gap.
Their tutors are trained specifically to teach various branches of math, from algebra to college test prep (as they should, TBH). And since they teach K-12 students, they can help with all sorts of math problems taught in all grade levels.
Even with just one subject to teach, we appreciate the personalized learning plans for each student. It’s a plus that they’re flexible, offering in-person and online sessions.
But here’s a bit of a problem: they’re not exactly affordable, since they only work on a monthly membership basis. It’s also a bummer that their online tutoring costs the same as in-person sessions, which we feel should be a little cheaper.
Nonetheless, you get what you pay for. Their Mathnasium Method addresses skills and learning gaps, ensuring the student understands math, instead of simply memorizing formulas.
Kid-friendly and personable
“Very happy with our experience so far at Mathnasium, North OKC location! Annalise(!) and the other instructors are very kid-friendly and personable and clearly enjoy what they do and it shows through the way they interact with the students. My son enjoys each session and it has helped him become more confident in his math skills, leaving him to desire to learn even more above his skill grade/level! We appreciate Mathnasium!”

2. Kumon

Best For: Self-paced learning
Address: 10700 S Pennsylvania Ave Suite #25
Contact: (405) 691-8900
Hours:
- Monday & Thursday: 2 pm – 7 pm
- Tuesday: 2 pm – 5 pm
- Wednesday: 2 pm – 6 pm
- Friday: 12 pm – 3 pm
If you’re searching for a math tutor that specializes in self-paced learning, Kumon is worth checking out. It focuses on independence through its structured approach by providing worksheets that the learner completes daily.
Independent learning brings a lot to the table, such as self-discipline and confidence, but it doesn’t necessarily work for every learner who prefers focused guidance. Nonetheless, parents reported progress in their kids’ math skills.
You should know that they don’t provide homework and test preparation help. Their tutoring format focuses strictly on developing critical thinking skills through practice.
Flexibility is still a focus here, offered through Kumon Connect, which is basically a digital worksheet that students complete via a tablet. In addition, there are branches in the north and south of OKC.
Plus, almost all ages are welcome here, from pre-school to high school students—kids as young as three can enrol. Finally, the free assessment is a huge help to see if their learning method will work for your child.
My daughter is more confident with her math skills
“When my daughter first started the program she struggled a lot with math. Her Math skills have improved and I can say thank you to Kumon for helping her. Now she is more confident with her math skills. I would highly recommend to those parents who have a child struggling with math.”

Wonderful supplemental after-school program
“Kumon is a wonderful supplemental after school program. I’ve seen many kids thrive from this program. My husband and I decided to enroll our son into math and reading here. Manju and her staff are awesome. They care for the students and their success. The curriculum has a lot of repetition, however that is how the kids learn the building blocks to more complex material. We 100% definitely recommend this place!”

Address: 726 S Mustang Rd, Yukon
Contact: (405) 255-4313, [email protected]
Hours:

- Friday: 9 am – 5 pm
If your child prefers one-on-one tutoring, Mustang Study Hub is well worth a look. Their focus on individualized learning and customized learning plans is ideal for students with specific academic goals.
They’re an all-in-one solution for students, as they offer math and other subjects. All levels are accepted, and they can even help with test preparation—flexible, overall.
We’d like to bring their dyslexia services to the center stage, where tutors are trained to teach using the Wilson Reading System, a program that helps students having trouble with the written language.
We appreciate that they don’t lock you into a membership, instead offering hourly rates for math and all other subjects. The catch is, it’s going to get expensive if your child needs more math tutoring sessions.
On a good note, we’ve seen massive improvements in students. The families we spoke with noticed advancement in their kids’ math skills, which is the end goal here.
Fantastic resource for our daughter
“Study hub was a fantastic resource for our daughter. She had a late dyslexia diagnosis and we felt very lost in how to help her. Study hub filled that gap for us and now she is doing very well in her studies!”

Helped my son with his dyslexia
“We found the Study Hub through the recommendation of a friend, and we are so glad we did! Not only did they help my son with his dyslexia and the struggles he was facing in reading and writing, but Dr. Bayless and her wonderful staff always took the time to explain things to me so that I could continue to help him at home. I highly recommend using the Study Hub!”

4. Edmond Learning Academy

Best For: Tailored tutoring through group sessions
Address: 610 S Kelly Ave Suite R, Edmond
Contact: (405) 348-8867, [email protected]
Hours: Monday – Thursday: 10 am – 7:30 pm
We chose Edmond Learning Academy because of the relaxed math tutoring sessions. They focus on group sessions while maintaining a tailored approach, done in a calm and colorful environment.
In particular, we like how they adjust their tutoring sessions based on the learner’s pace. All in all, this strategy makes learning math more enjoyable, avoiding unnecessary stress for the kid.
Their dyslexia tutoring service is another helpful addition, as it’s tailored to help students with reading difficulties learn math using research-based techniques. And yes, parents have praised the math tutors for helping dyslexic learners improve their grades.
Plus, we appreciate that the tutors don’t give out tutoring homework to give students time to rest. But they do help with school homework.
One of our favorite things is their flexibility, as there are no long-term contracts and they’re open on Saturday mornings, except during the summer.
Lastly, we like that, even though they only tutor in small groups, their math tutors still manage to provide targeted support for each kid.
A wonderful program for our son
“This has been a wonderful program for our son, who will be starting first grade this fall. We have specifically done the intensive reading program to help him get caught up on his phonics awareness and basic letter writing/recognition. The staff are all wonderful and truly love their work. We have been coming here for about 4 months and the progress our son has made has been amazing to see! I would highly recommend this program!”
-Alecia Rains, Google Review
The staff has been amazing
“My daughter started here half way through her 1st grade year and is now going to 2nd grade. She loves coming to tutoring! I believe she is become more confident in the areas that she is struggling in. The staff has been amazing and they gave a detailed report at the end of her progress for the year. I am looking forward to her continuing through the summer!”

5. Master Tutoring

Best For: Test preparation
Address: 2908 Colton Dr. Edmond
Contact: (405) 820-3486, [email protected]
Hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 2 pm – 8 pm
- Saturday: 10 am – 4 pm
We chose Master Tutoring because of their custom sessions, since learning math isn’t a cookie-cutter method. They provide extensive tutoring sessions, from homework help to test preparation.
They also cover lots of topics for K-12 students, such as algebra, geometry, and calculus. They’re an all-in-one learning solution, basically, even for students getting ready for college.
And since they do one-on-one math tutoring, your child will receive personalized support and learn at their own pace. It’s even better that small group sessions are available for students who thrive in teams.
During our surveys, we saw how incredible the students’ improvements were. Parents noted that their kids’ grades improved significantly, while actually enjoying math learning.
For us, it shows their excellent teaching strategy, even when it’s done virtually. But that’s the thing that puts us at a snag—they focus on online academic tutoring sessions, which are flexible, but not all students prefer the online environment.
My daughter has become more confident in math
“Friends, you will not be disappointed with their services! My 2nd grade Daughter has become more confident in Math and Reading. She is in a program for students who are in Elementary through Master Tutoring and is working great for us! Also my 6th grade Daughter is getting help from their services and she enjoys the extra support outside of school! She feels more confident doing Math now!”

“Pam and Cameron were outstanding! After a little over a month, they raised my score from a 27 to a 35. I would highly recommend them. I could not be considering elite colleges without them. If you want to be in the best position for higher education, you have to go to Master Tutoring. It makes all of the difference.”
