Move Freely with Oklahoma’s 5 Trusted Spine Specialists

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Credentials, Experience, and Approach – We picked spine specialists who are board-certified, complete with advanced training and hands-on experience, ensuring you’re in highly capable hands.

Multidisciplinary Support – We looked for specialists who offered a holistic approach, working alongside physical therapists and rehabilitation teams, to provide comprehensive care.

Professionalism and Bedside Manner – We prioritized specialists who communicate clearly, listen attentively, and treat patients with compassionate care and empathy.

Facilities and Equipment – We chose clinics that have top-notch spine care facilities and are equipped with advanced equipment and diagnostic tools, or are affiliated with leading hospitals, to ensure accurate, efficient, and smooth treatment planning.

Maybe it started with bad posture at your desk, a gym session gone wrong, or lifting something a little too heavy. Chronic back and neck pain has a sneaky way of creeping in when you least expect it.

The good news? You don’t have to go through it alone. Before you spiral into another “Why does my back hurt?” search, know this: Oklahoma City has experienced spine specialists ready to help you find real solutions and long-term relief

Instead of guessing your way through online advice, keep reading to meet the experts who can get you back on track.

How much do spine specialists in Oklahoma City charge?

Seeing a spine specialist in Oklahoma City typically costs around $120 to $250+ for an initial consultation without insurance. If you’re paying upfront for a new patient visit, fees often range from $160 to $300+, depending on the provider.
That said, pricing isn’t one-size-fits-all. Your total cost will largely depend on the complexity of your condition, the number of follow-up visits needed, and whether you require advanced imaging or specialized care.
Another factor that’ll affect the final bill is whether you’re paying out-of-pocket or using insurance.

With over 25 years of experience, SSM Health Oklahoma Spine Hospital has built a strong reputation for focused spine and pain care. This physician-owned facility is home to a dozen dedicated doctors and a team of over 200 professionals to deliver specialized treatment.

We like that their partnership with SSM Health expands patients’ access to a broader network of specialists. This is especially helpful if your condition calls for more advanced expertise and multidisciplinary care.

Hence, in addition to specialized spine treatment, you can tap into pain management services, physical therapy planning, and surgical consultations more seamlessly.

That said, we noted that the bedside manner can still vary depending on the branch. Even so, they’ve been repeatedly recognized with patient satisfaction awards, a strong sign that many patients feel genuinely cared for and supported.

Finally, we love their streamlined patient portal, making it a breeze to look for medical records, view bills, and even handle payments all in one place.

Pros

  • Streamlined patient portal available
  • Part of SSM Health network
  • Insurance accepted, with online billing portal

Cons

  • Potential wait times
  • Bedside manner varies by branch

Such a positive experience

“I’m currently three weeks post-op from surgery with Dr. Tibbs, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Dr. Tibbs and his PA, Candace, were both wonderful. Everyone on the medical team I met the morning of my surgery was kind, attentive, and took the time to answer all the questions my husband and I had.

I stayed for two days after surgery for recovery, and every nurse I encountered was incredibly caring and compassionate. I honestly didn’t meet a single nurse or staff member I didn’t like—they were all so helpful and friendly. The food was good and nutritious, especially considering what I was able to eat post-surgery.

Whenever I needed help getting out of bed, someone was there right away—often more than one person. Overall, I had such a positive experience and truly appreciated the care and kindness from everyone involved.”

Phenomenal care

“I had cervical spine surgery on Monday and there’s not enough words to describe the phenomenal care I received from this team. Dr. Snell was my neurosurgeon and Dr Reed was my anesthesiologist and both were wonderful. David ensured I understood the nerve process during surgery to ease my mind about safety. Additionally, every nurse that took care of me was so caring. Thank you so much to Abbey, Tammy, Tkia, Tam, Haile, Lindsey, and Tina for being exceptional nurses and providing the best aftercare!”

What we love most about Southwest Spine, Pain & Wellness Institute is that they’re led by board-certified pain management and anesthesiology physicians. They make patients feel confident that they’re in capable hands.

And if you’re leaning toward conservative or minimally invasive care, it’s good to know that they focus on interventional pain management, only moving to surgery if absolutely necessary. This includes epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency ablations, and lifestyle support, among others.

We love that their staff is friendly and compassionate, so it’s no surprise that they’re highly rated overall by patients. Another plus? Being part of a bigger orthopedic practice means that you get consistent, coordinated care for any musculoskeletal issues.

But here’s the hitch: you may face longer waits for specialist appointments, especially since hours are limited to weekdays only, so planning ahead is key.

On the bright side, they have a patient portal that makes scheduling appointments, checking your records, and requesting documents all just a few clicks away.

Pros

  • Emphasizes interventional pain management
  • Insurance accepted
  • Streamlined patient portal

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • Potentially longer wait times

Very kind, caring, and helpful

“P.A. Christina Felarca has always been very kind caring and helpful to me. Very pleasant to me given the situation when your body does not cooperate and pain tries to rule your life. She showed me a few simple exercises to help and shows great concern for my issues. Thank you. Also not even has this place pushed for pill therapy and to me that is a big plus.”

Catherin Brasier, Google Review

Very attentive

“Christina was very attentive and asked about my well being after injections and how I felt the treatments were going, every one starting from front receptionist to the entire staff and Dr. Vincent and his PA Christina Felarca are in my opinions are awesome.”

What’s special about SonoSpine is that they’re known for using specialized technology, offering millimeter-level precision. Hence, it’s no surprise that they’re the go-to for orthopaedic surgery, targeting problem areas while protecting surrounding tissue.

This means safer procedures, maintained stability, and potentially faster recovery. That said, they’re a good pick if you want to limit the impact on daily life, so no overnight hospital stay.

And with staff so professional and accommodating, they make the experience surprisingly comfortable. Another plus is that they offer financing options and insurance coverage, helping make treatment more accessible and easier to manage financially.

The only downside? Their hours are limited to 8 AM to 5 PM on weekdays only, so planning ahead is a smart move, especially with how popular they are.

And if you’re still on the fence, you’ll be glad to know that they offer free MRI reviews, giving you a chance to understand your condition before the next steps.

Pros

  • Insurance coverage and financing options available
  • Faster recovery potential
  • Free MRI review
  • Minimally invasive

Cons

  • Limited hours
  • Potentially longer wait times

Very knowledgeable and understanding

“Brooke had my wife and I booked and seen in no time. From setting our appointment date to being seen was painless! Highly recommended! My Dr was amazing as well! She’s very knowledgeable and understanding! It was pleasure being seen by her.”

Brian Hinkley, Google Review

Very professional, and explained to me each step of the process

“I’ve been battling chronic back pain for about three year’s now. The doctor that I had been seeing wanted to continue with different injections even after I voiced concerns.

I not only just had regular old steroid injections, I also had a couple of nerve blockers, and nothing had worked. So I got online to look for a spine surgeon, and the first advertisement was for SonoSpine. I got online the phone and called them. The lady who answered the phone asked me for information, and she told me that Brooke would be my Patient Manager and would be calling me.

I believe I received a call from Brooke later on in the day.

Brooke was very professional, and explained to me each step of the process. She always called me back on the days that she said she would.

Brooke’s professionalism and great customer service skills are very outstanding.

Mind you, after one week of contacting SonoSpine I will finally get the answers to whatever is causing my chronic back pain.

I highly recommend SonoSpine if you’re are having chronic back pain.”

If you’re on the hunt for a spine specialist who focuses on neck and back conditions, Dr. Jeffrey Moore is someone worth looking into. He completed a spine surgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, a program with a solid reputation.

What we like is that he covers both ends of the spectrum: offering conservative care when appropriate and also advanced minimally invasive surgery when needed. It’s also worth noting that he’s skilled in newer techniques like ProoneTransPsoas (PTP), too.

Another pro is that he offers free MRI reviews, which can help you assess your case first before committing to surgery.

You’ll usually find him at Optima Orthodontics, but note that he rotates between clinics, so it’s smart to double-check where he’ll be before locking in an appointment to avoid hiccups. Also, keep in mind that his practice hours are limited to weekdays from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM only, too.

Pros

  • Strong training and advanced specialization
  • Comprehensive range of spine treatments
  • Insurance accepted

Cons

  • Limited hours
  • Rotating clinic schedule may require extra planning

Great people work here and definitely ease your mind

“Great people work here and definitely ease your mind if you have issues with surgical procedures, I’m one of those people. Dr. Moore , Aimee, PAC, Brooke and everyone who works here are thoughtful and caring. My surgery went very well, fusion between L3 and L4, small cage, did wonders for my back and sciatic pain, with a short 3 month recovery to full release, it’s amazingly fast, if you need a surgical procedure, I highly recommend these folks.”

Nothing but amazing from the first visit

“Nothing but amazing from the first visit! I was scared to go after visiting so many Drs turning me away! Dr. Moore was the 24th Dr and the only 1 who took time to look, care and help!! We planned for my neck surgery and went through every hoop possible! Being denied for 2 replacements to every turn had a road block. His team didnt slow down! Had my surgery 2 weeks before Christmas, and I’ll be going for the 2nd surgery soon. We knew it was a gamble, hoping for not having to have a 2nd surgery, but that had nothing to do with him! His team made the whole process so easy and for all follow up, even day of surgery, he just made it less stressful. Showing pics and all, had patience, and answered any questions I had! Even at 1030 at night. I highly recommend Dr. Moore and his entire team! Best hands I’ve ever been in and the results were amazing! My scar is perfect and Ill wear it with pride. To hear 6 months longer, it’s irreversible damage, was scary! ER surgery was submitted and done!! Thank you for saving my life🙏🏻 FYI- 2 disks were pinching my spinal cord.”

The best part about INTEGRIS Health Medical Group Spine and Neurological Surgery is the “INTEGRIS” part. Being part of the INTEGRIS Health umbrella means you can easily tap into a whole network of specialists if your condition calls for a more multidisciplinary approach.

We like that they offer both surgical and non-surgical approaches tailored to your condition, giving you plenty of options. These include spinal fusion, cervical arthroplasty (disc replacement), and anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF), to name a few.

That said, appointments can take a little longer to secure since they stay pretty busy, especially if you’re trying to see a specialist. It’s also worth noting that they operate weekdays only, from 9 AM to 5 PM, so planning ahead is key.

On the bright side, their patient portal makes things much easier. You can book appointments, access your medical records, and even pay bills online without the usual back-and-forth.

Pros

  • Backed by INTEGRIS Health
  • Comprehensive range of spinal treatments
  • User-friendly patient portal

Cons

  • High demand can mean longer wait times
  • Weekday-only hours

Listened patiently to all my questions and explained things in a clear manner

“This was my second visit with Dr McAllister. He listened patiently to all my questions and explained things in a clear manner. He gave me options and told me the pros and cons of everything. I would highly recommend him.”

Lovetta, Google Review
