I have a couple—some are sentimental, and some are just for fun. I guess the toughest part wasn’t the actual tattooing process, but finding the right artist to create exactly what I want.
If you’re planning to get inked, we’ve got Oklahoma City’s best tattoo shops, equipped with skilled artists with phenomenal portfolios.
1. 405 Ink

If you’re unsure what kind of tattoo to get, 405 Ink should be one of your places to visit. They have several artists who can most likely offer what you need, such as fine line, realism, portraits, florals, script, and tribal.
Furthermore, they have artists equipped to handle cover-ups, which isn’t exactly the easiest. The portfolio of black and colored tattoos we’ve seen has been nothing short of impressive, with intricate attention to detail, especially for portraits and animals.
They’re accessible as well, as they’re open for appointments and walk-ins. But if you’re looking for a specific artist, we recommend booking a slot since availability will vary for walk-ins—remember to be patient since they receive a ton of messages.
One of our favorite things is the cleanliness of their OKC tattoo shop. The space is well-maintained, and you can clearly see their safety protocols in place, which made our team member’s third tattoo experience comfortable.

Atomic Lotus Tattoo is a custom tattoo shop in Oklahoma City that doesn’t disappoint. They’ve been in business since 2006, and you can find several artists specializing in various styles.
They’re a creative bunch, providing unique tattoos for their clients. We mostly loved their transparency, where they’ll politely match you with another artist who can ink your vision into your skin, in case the style isn’t something they’re used to.
You can still find a variety of tattoo styles, such as realism, florals, script, and traditional. The tattooing skills we’ve seen have been fantastic—think: crisp linework, even shading, and vibrant colors.
Availability-wise, they’re solid. You see, they’re open seven days a week and accept walk-ins. A little heads up: Saturdays are for walk-ins only, so arrive early to secure a spot to avoid waiting a little too long.
As for their prices, we think they’re worth every dollar. The tattoos we’ve seen on their clients have looked incredible, even years later.

One of our top choices for large pieces is Oklahoma Tattoo Collective, a shop that’s experienced in custom work of various styles. They focus on black and grey tattoos, including traditional, Japanese, and realistic.
Of course, they’re skilled in colored tattoos as well, but we just have to highlight their intricate blackwork pieces. We mainly saw healed ones, and you can tell their artists have top-notch techniques for these to still be detailed years later.
Their people skills are also worth noting, as their tattoo artists have remained patient to make sure each client receives the perfect design on their skin, including placing the stencil over and over to create a symmetrical look.
Their minimum rate is fair at $80, too, so flash designs, when available, are worth it if you’re itching to get inked.
However, we would like to see an easier booking system, since everything’s done by emailing the artist. Other than that, we have no issues, as they accept walk-ins and same-day appointments.

I gave him a general idea of what i wanted and he gave me back a perfect sketch back that had everything i wanted and its own flair! He is an absolutely talented artist and I recommend him to everyone looking to get a new tattoo, especially if its your first! Hes very patient and gave me lots of breaks when i needed it, especially since our session took about 6 hours because of the size and detail. Located in Edmond, 15th Legion Tattoo & Body Piercing is a phenomenal place for flash and custom tattoos. The variety of styles their artists can do is outstanding, from cute cartoon designs to highly complex, realistic works.
We appreciate the privacy every client gets, as the tattoo shop doesn’t have the usual open space layout. Tattoo clients can get their fresh ink without other people watching, which can be comforting for a first-timer.
Blackwork and colored tattoos are their specializations. But it’s the details that truly reeled us in, because they know exactly how to get the right colors to match the vision.
Flash tattoos are quite affordable, starting at $60. Custom pieces will vary per piece, but they’re fairly priced for the quality—one of their artists even offers discounted rates for anime and gaming tattoos.
Appointments are pretty much tough to get, depending on the artist. Although this is quite normal in the tattoo industry, you can expect to wait a month or so for your preferred artist.

At Sacred Soul Collective, finding someone to work on your custom tattoo is easy. They have a lot of tattoo artists in Oklahoma City who are experts in various styles, from animated to realistic designs.
Moreover, they have artists equipped for blackwork, colored, watercolor, and pastel tattoos. The variety is phenomenal, to tell you the truth, and their works show consistency, clean lines, and smooth shading.
They’re by appointment only, so walk-ins are a no-go. Booking wasn’t the smoothest experience either, since they don’t have a website, and browsing through their Instagram highlights to see their artist portfolios wasn’t the quickest experience.
Nonetheless, we had a comfortable experience overall. Our friend even praised the cool space and welcoming atmosphere, where tattoo artists were patient and provided proper aftercare instructions.
Plus, we love their professionalism in reworking designs to make them perfect. It shows in their portfolio, with pieces that have been consistent and top-notch, regardless of the style.
