One evening, we noticed our cousins coming home quieter than usual, placing their bags by the door without a word. When they finally spoke, it wasn’t about the test they’d just taken, but how lost they felt asking for help.
That moment stayed with us because it showed how easily confidence can slip when support is missing. It also reminded us that the right guidance doens’t overwhelm—it reassures, explains, and meets students where they are.
This list focuses on tutoring centres that Oklahoma City families genuinely rely on. Read on to find places where students feel understood, regain momentum, and move ahead at a pace that feels right!
How much does a tutoring service in Oklahoma City cost?
In Oklahoma City, private tutoring typically costs between $20 and $50 per hour, depending on the subject and the tutor’s experience. Commercial learning centres generally charge higher rates, often ranging from $45 to $65 per hour.
1. 405 Tutoring

Address: 419 S University Blvd, Norman
Phone: +14052047222
Business Hours:
- Monday to Sunday – 8 AM to 7 PM
From the get-go, we noted that 405 Tutoring is highly in demand, especially during peak exam periods. It’s no surprise that receiving a response can take a bit of time, and a quick turnaround isn’t always guaranteed.
When we dropped by to observe, we noted how they’re heavily results-driven, particularly for university-level business and math subjects.
Their former clients mentioned that their tutoring style is more practical than theoretical. And this approach breaks down accounting, finance, economics, statistics, and calculus into steps that actually match how exams are set.
It’s also great that students can choose between private tutoring, group sessions, or exam reviews, depending on how much support is needed. Moreover, their scheduling is flexible, and mentorship is adjusted to each student’s learning style.
Overall, the students we’ve spoken with are pleased with their strong grade improvements and better subject understanding over time.
They make studying so much easier
“I started tutoring with Preston when I was a freshman. I used him for Financial/Managerial Accounting and Intro to Finance. Preston does such a good job explaining each chapter and going through in-depth study guides to make sure you understand the concepts. He also breaks down most of the professors teaching styles to help you understand them better. His test reviews save you a lot of wasted time by giving you a strong outline to work with when studying. He helped keep me accountable because I’m not a math person AT ALL and he made studying so much easier. Super convenient location off campus corner and he is pretty flexible with fitting you into the schedule as long as you reach out early. I highly recommend working with Preston. Super nice guy and really wants to see all of his students succeed. 10/10”
Affordable sessions
“Preston was incredibly helpful with my managerial accounting class. I highly suggest you start going at the start of the class as everything builds. Each session is affordable and small in terms of student to instructor ratio, and you will learn many tricks that you won’t learn in class. Preston knows all of the OU courses extremely well so you can count on him for knowing what exactly you will be doing week by week.”

2. Mathnasium

Address: 14101 N May Ave
Phone: +14053486284
Business Hours:
- Monday to Thursday – 12 to 7:30 PM
- Friday – 3 to 6:30 PM
- Saturday – 10 AM to 2 PM
From the outside, Mathnasium looks like a straightforward after-school spot, but digging deeper into this centre shows a very organised system behind how students are taught.
We’ve talked to several parents, and they’re happy with how focused this center is on long-term learning and steady improvement through consistency.
Every session starts with a personalised assessment, then moves into learning plans built around gaps in understanding rather than school pace.
Moreover, the Mathnasium Method™ emphasises grasping concepts before speed, helping students build confidence in problem solving instead of simply memorising formulas.
Another plus is that they also offer in-person and online sessions. Also, their staff are always approachable and patient, especially with younger students who struggle with maths anxiety.
And with their regular progress updates, parents can track whether the approach is working for their child. However, they teach math exclusively here. If you’re looking for multi-subject tutoring under one roof, you’ll need to look elsewhere.
You can learn as fast as one month
“Mathnasium is next door to my favorite nail salon and Gigi’s Cupcake. My daughter is a Junior in HS and had taken the ACT exam twice and could only obtain a composite Math score of 18. We wanted to increase her scholarship opportunities and therefore her ACT score, but she had always struggled with math. One Saturday, I went in to Mathnasium to see what they offered. When I met Ms. Jesse she was so excited about Math and that excitement was contagious. She made my daughter no longer afraid of Math. My daughter only attended Mathnasium for ONE MONTH…ONE MONTH. She took the ACT and her composite Math score increased from an 18 to a 23!!!! WOW, Mathnasium works! Thanks Ms. Jesse and Mathnasium”

3. The Study Hub

Address: 2426 Hawkins St #103, Choctaw
Phone: +14058502582
Business Hours:
- Monday to Thursday – 9 AM to 8 PM
- Friday – 9 AM to 7 PM
Visiting The Study Hub feels more like entering a calm learning space than a traditional tutoring centre.
From our observations, they have a strong focus on one-on-one instruction. We also like that they have professional educators across multiple subjects.
The main limitation is that sessions are strictly in person, which may not suit families looking for online flexibility, even though this hands-on model is intentional.
That said, what stands out next is how their process begins with a diagnostic assessment, allowing tutors to pinpoint strengths and learning gaps before sessions even start.
Moreover, this centre applies the Orton-Gillingham approach—a valuable technique for children with dyslexia and reading struggles. Plus, their tutoring isn’t tied to contracts, so anyone can book sessions based on progress and need instead of long commitments.
Parents are very satisfied with their children’s improvements in confidence alongside academics, particularly in reading and language skills. Overall, we weren’t surprised that The Study Hub is a top choice for tutoring in OKC.
They can effectively help children read
“My daughter has been at The Study Hub for 6 months going once a week for reading. Her reading STAR score at the beginning of the school year was 7%! After our time at The Study Hub and working with Julie my daughter now has a reading STAR score of 79% her STAR math score even jumped 20%! We were always created with a smile and they worked hard to help my daughter. Without The Study Hub we would have struggled all school year, but now my daughter loves to read! Highly recommend this place.”

You will not be disappointed to bring your child here
“I have taken my 2 kids here for different subjects over the years and I’m always super pleased to see their grade come up dramatically. And most recently my daughter had a 2 hour tutoring class for a college test. And she did amazing on her test and loved Marlene- her tutor. I would never take my kids anywhere else for academic help. You will not be disappointed.”

4. Edmond Learning Academy

Address: 610 S Kelly Ave Suite R, Edmond
Phone: +14053488867
Business Hours:
- Monday to Thursday – 10 AM to 7:30 PM
Firstly, what stands out about Edmond Learning Academy is its emphasis on rebuilding confidence, not just grades.
From what we heard from parents and also from what’s outlined in their programmes, everything starts with understanding where the child is struggling and why.
Next, rather than pushing a fixed curriculum, sessions are customised for K-12 students, which helps lessons feel purposeful instead of rushed.
A big plus is that the students’ progress is tracked closely, and families are kept in the loop, giving them an idea of what’s working and what needs adjustment.
Moreover, their certified teachers and structured systems, like the Barton Reading System, make a difference if your child has dyslexia or reading challenges.
We are also impressed with their partnership with the OKC Metro Literacy Coalition, which shows their broader commitment to literacy access beyond their own centre.
However, scheduling may be a challenge for working families, as the centre is closed on Fridays and weekends.
Wonderful staff and effective reading methods
“This has been a wonderful program for our son, who will be starting first grade this fall. We have specifically done the intensive reading program to help him get caught up on his phonics awareness and basic letter writing/recognition. The staff are all wonderful and truly love their work. We have been coming here for about 4 months and the progress our son has made has been amazing to see! I would highly recommend this program!”

Best fit for children on the spectrum
“My son has been here for a couple months now and I can say he is always ready to start and leaves in a good mood! He is on the spectrum so I wanted to find the best fit for him, I asked the member of his school support team who knows all of his challenges and strengths. She said Edmond Learning Academy was THE SPOT! I cannot agree more and am just so grateful we were pointed in the right direction. ❤️❤️❤️”

5. Kumon Math and Reading Center of Oklahoma City

Address: 9300 N May Ave Suite #200
Phone: +14057522000
Business Hours:
- Monday and Wednesday – 12 PM to 8 PM
- Tuesday and Thursday – 10 AM to 8 PM
- Friday – 12 to 5 PM
It was a pleasure to observe Kumon Oklahoma City North because of the calm, organised, and routine-driven process in the center. They follow the well-known Kumon method that focuses on daily practice to help a child build independence in both math and reading.
That said, some parents mentioned a small hiccup: their sessions were being shortened numerous times. It may be a drawback if your child needs longer guidance.
On the brighter side, their teachers are attentive and quick to step in when students struggle, keeping lessons productive even within limited time.
Another standout is their flexibility, especially for busy families juggling school and extracurriculars. Parents can adjust schedules without much hassle, and communication with staff feels approachable and clear.
Furthermore, students’ progress is steady and not rushed, which helps children gain confidence instead of feeling pressured.
They help children become confident in studying
“Great program! My child is gaining confidence and making steady progress. The instructors are helpful, supportive, and create a positive environment.”
