Get a Strike in These 8 Bowling Alleys in Oklahoma City

bowling-alleys-in-oklahoma-city

Anyone who’s been out in Oklahoma can say that there are tons to do. And we Oklahomans can confirm it, which is one thing we love about it!

Some of us love to visit one of the many museums scattered around to learn more about our city, while others would want to take a dip in a pool or two. But me? I love to get my bowling on!

There’s something about the satisfaction of giving your all with a swing of the arm, then getting all ten pins down. It can be harder than it looks, so every strike I get is always a rush of excitement and pride for me!

Well, this is actually why I’ve tried out different bowling alleys all around Oklahoma City, and I have to say, it was a blast! And now I’ll be sharing them with you so that you know the best spots to go to so that you can test your bowling mettle. Read on to know more!

Anyone who’s been around Oklahoma knows that an Andy B’s is one of the best places to go for a game night out with friends! They have all kinds of games and activities, great for a group, and their bowling alleys are no exception.

Their bowling alleys are actually what they’re best known for, and they’re really made to maximize as much as possible. It’s got social seating for spectators to cheer on every strike (or gutter ball, no shame in admitting that), and even a nearby snack bar!

But if you want to truly go all out, you could book the VIB lounge, which is a semi-private area separate from the rest of the rooms. It’s a great option to splurge on if you want to watch some sports in between cheering on your friends, or if you’ve got a group of ten people or more!

Pro tip
Come on down here every August 10, which is when National Bowling Day is. They offer 50% off for the bowling alleys here!

  • Saturday: 12:00 PM – 11:00 PM
  • Sunday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Other activities: Claw Machines

Accessibility: Wheelchair-accessible parking and entrance

Website

Having been established in 1969, Holiday Bowling Lanes Center is the oldest bowling alley in Oklahoma. It has seen what the city was even before color television was invented!

There are two different types of lanes here: wood on one half and synthetic on the other. If you’ve only bowled on synthetic ones, you might need to need a bit of time to get used to the wooden ones. The approaches are quite tacky as well, making it difficult to slide.

To fuel up while bowling, head over to the snack bar. There’s decent food at fair prices, with options like pizza, wings, burgers, coffee, and cocktails. Overall, this place is like a time warp to the 1960s!

Pro tip
They hold regular mixers here at night, so try to take the time out of your day to join in when you’ve got the chance.

Tinker AFB Bowling Lanes

Open hours:

  • Monday – Friday: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM
  • Saturday: 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Other activities: Sports Center

Accessibility: Wheelchair-accessible parking and entrance

Website

While this bowling alley inside the Tinker Air Force base is mainly frequented by active-duty military, veterans, and their families, the general public is welcome to enjoy its 16 synthetic lanes.

Compared to most spots, the prices for a game are affordable. The best part? If you’re with a group, there are discounted rates available!

Another bonus is the Pin Deck Grill, which is known for the best burgers in the base! The other menu items are terrific, too, so you might as well enjoy dinner while you’re here.

Pro tip
If you’re planning to visit, make sure to call ahead to check their availability. There are times when most nights of the week are reserved for league nights, restricting access to other people.

Ever wanted to bowl vintage-style? That’s exactly what you can do in Dust Bowl Lanes and Lounge! The interior of this bowling alley has got to be one of my favorite retro-styled looks, with the decor taking inspiration from the bowling alleys of the 1970s.

And like every other Dust Bowl branch, this one’s packed with a patio bar, lounge, and even a private VIP room! It’s definitely worth visiting if you’re in the mood for a bowling alley with a bit of pizzazz in its look.

Plus, you can order a pretty good beer and fries in the bar, perfect for a quick bite in between strikes. You could also hold a party here! It’ll make for some fond memories for you and your friends.

Pro tip
Consider signing up for the rewards program under McNellie’s group, which is the company that Dust Bowl Lanes falls under. They have some pretty sweet deals for food and bowling alike!

Beneath LED lights and surrounded by a snazzy neon color scheme, Revolutions offers a revolutionary time! Managed by HeyDay Entertainment, Oklahoma’s premier family entertainment center, there’s lots of bowling to be fun in Revolutions.

And if your group’s filled with people who are 21 years or older, you can check out the upstairs area. The 21+ section has a bar and HD TVs, so spectators can watch the latest sports or drink a couple of beers while waiting for their turn.

All this proves is that Revolutions is the bowling alley to go to when you’re having a night out with friends!

Pro tip
Before going here, make sure to check if anyone who’s coming along has epilepsy or any other visual impairments. The bright neon lights might be a bit too overwhelming for them, so it’s better to be safe than sorry.
