We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Qualifications – We looked for dance instructors with solid credentials, formal training, and real-world experience performing and teaching across relevant styles.

Teaching style and adaptability – We assessed how instructors adjust their teaching methods to suit different skill levels, learning speeds, and whether students are dancing recreationally or training more seriously.

Class structure and scheduling – We considered studios that offer well-organized class formats, manageable class sizes, and schedules that accommodate working professionals, students, and varying availability.

Student support – We looked for studios where instructors and staff are approachable, responsive to feedback, and committed to creating a supportive learning atmosphere.

Families and studio space – We reviewed the quality of studio facilities, including cleanliness, safety, flooring, ventilation, mirrors, and sound systems.

Price – We compared class rates, package options, memberships, and trial offers to ensure pricing is transparent and fair.

Ever watched your kid dance to Baby Shark and suddenly think they might be a future World of Dance champion?

That’s exactly what my sister said when her son somehow nailed every move from Mommy Shark to Grandpa Shark without missing a beat—you’d think he’d swim away after that impressive performance.

So my team and I reviewed the best dance studios in Oklahoma City, whether you’re signing up your kids or finally taking a class yourself. Keep reading to find the right fit based on class styles, pricing, and schedule.

How much do dance classes cost in Oklahoma City?

If you’re the type to explore and experiment with dance styles, then International Dance Studio is a good place to start. They offer many styles such as salsa, bachata, ballroom, tango, swing, ballet, tap, belly dancing, and more, so there’s something for everyone.

Since exploring involves a lot of firsts, we appreciate how beginner-friendly their classes are. We came across many newcomers and first-timers who joined in and didn’t feel intimidated or have to wait for a new session to begin.

You can also choose between private and group classes. From what we’ve seen, beginners often benefit from personalized coaching, while group classes provide a social and affordable way to learn.

While there are multiple weekly class options and consistent schedules, we did notice that many classes are held later in the day. It might be a dealbreaker, especially if you want morning lessons or want it to be a daytime activity for your kids.

Still, this can be a plus for those who are busy at work or want to book specialized lessons for weddings and special occasions.

Pros

  • Wide variety of dance styles
  • Offers private and group classes
  • Beginner-friendly environment
  • Hosts regular social and themed dance events
  • Specialized lessons for weddings and occasions

Cons

  • Most classes are held in the evening

Clear, direct, and incredibly easy to follow

“I took my first beginner salsa class with Tamara Roman, and she was clear, direct, and incredibly easy to follow—making the whole experience feel effortless. I could really feel her passion for dance through her teaching, and she did it all with a bright, encouraging smile. I also got to reconnect with some familiar faces from the socials I attend here. This place is definitely one of my favorite spots to get my groove on! Also , thank you, Hazel, for always being so welcoming every time I visit ”

True to its name, Studio J Performing Arts Center has an impressive lineup of dance and performing arts classes. Think ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, pointe, acro, and theatre programs—you can build versatile skills without switching studios.

That said, we love how many of their programs are structured classes starting as young as age two and continuing through teen and advanced levels. It makes for a reliable studio if you want your kid to learn and start dancing at a young age.

Their facility deserves some attention, too. It features multiple dance rooms, a large lobby viewing area, and a performance venue with a 275-seat theatre stage.

On the flipside, we found their classes to be primarily designed for children and teens, with fewer dedicated programs for adult beginners.

The silver lining is that they organize productions and recitals where students can perform with costumes, stage lighting, and even seating for audiences—a nice showcase of talents and learning for families.

Pros

  • Comprehensive dance and performing arts classes
  • Programs for toddlers through teens
  • Modern performing arts facility
  • Family-friendly performances and recitals
  • Opportunities for competitions

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • Classes don’t focus on adult students

Young students can easily explore multiple dance styles at Dance Unlimited, including ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and even performing arts like lyrical, acro, and musical theatre.

The parents of these students also shared their satisfaction with the instructors, praising their enthusiasm, patience, and teaching. It’s a welcoming environment for beginners as well; you won’t have to feel overwhelmed.

A big plus for parents is that they can observe classes through windows or lobby monitors without interrupting the class.

It’s just a bummer that they’re usually closed on Fridays through Sundays. And you might have to look elsewhere if you’re an adult planning to sign up for casual dance classes.

Nonetheless, we can’t deny the quality of their facilities;  they have four studios, an acting studio, and a voice studio, so you or your kids have access to modern spaces designed for specific needs. Their dance studios even have floating wood floors to protect joints and reduce impact.

Pros

  • Comprehensive dance and performing arts programs
  • Modern facilities and spaces
  • Organized viewing options for parents
  • Opportunities to perform and compete

Cons

  • Closed Fridays to Sundays
  • Doesn’t focus on adult programs

“My daughter has been at DU since she was 5 — the instructors and staff have always been attentive to her needs as a person and as a dancer. I have always felt comfortable reaching out to the studio and staff to ask questions. Most importantly, they care about my daughter and what she wants to accomplish. I would highly recommend!”

We love how many students at Velocity Dance Center experience an accelerated boost in confidence and social skills as their classes progress. It’s a great fit if you want your kid to grow personally as well.

As for their programs, they have a wide selection of dance styles, such as hip hop, ballet, jazz, tap, competitive, and more. Kids can get to show off their new learnings thanks to the studio’s events, like family nights, celebrations, and community activities.

Now, if you’re not sure about their programs yet, you can take advantage of their free trial class to help you choose the suitable level and style based on what your child wants.

Here’s the thing, though: their classes are set up as part of a season-long program, so you won’t find flexible drop-in sessions here.

The good news is that they provide a 30-day money-back guarantee if the program isn’t the right fit for you or your kid.

Pros

  • Strong focus on building confidence
  • Comprehensive dance styles
  • Offers free trial classes
  • 30-day money-back guarantee

Cons

  • Structured tuition model
  • Tuition fees can feel expensive

Has been so much fun for my son

“Velocity dance has been so much fun for my son. Ms. Kelli is absolutely phenomenal with all of her students and instills a love and joy of dance so strong that we have to play dance class at home. There are very few opportunities for toddlers to learn movement skills that they need and I love that we found this place.”

What stood out to us the most about Everything Goes Dance Studio is its impressive lineup of dance styles, including cultural and specialty classes. So you can learn everything from ballet and hip hop to flamenco, Mexican folklorico, and even Scottish highland dance.

We’re glad that their classes and programs are available to students of all ages, whether it’s for your toddler or for you—even seniors are welcome to join.

Price-wise, their pricing is competitive and affordable: you can expect tuition to start at around $55 per month for one class per week, which is quite a steal.

The hitch? They require specific dress codes or uniforms and purchase appropriate dancewear and shoes. These can easily increase upfront cost, especially if you’re starting from scratch.

On a positive note, we like that you can try classes without committing to a full season thanks to their drop-in options. It’s an ideal choice for beginners or casual dancers.

Pros

  • Diverse dance styles
  • Welcomes all ages and levels
  • Competitive pricing
  • Offers drop-in classes

Cons

  • Required to dress in the class uniform
  • Late fee for delayed tuition payment

Awesome with kids

“Great people work here! Miss Kelsey is awesome with kids and is loved back by them. Lots of classes to choose from.”
