I’m in the stage of my life where when a specific part of my body aches, I have to backtrack, whether it’s because of a specific movement I did, or maybe the way I slept the night before. It’s also tough, as I don’t know whether to see a physiotherapist or just tough it out.
After experiencing a lingering joint pain, however, my partner finally advised me to see an osteopath. When I got to the hospital, I was amazed at how different the process was, as the doctor didn’t just prescribe me medicine, but thoroughly understood how I was treating my body.
When the pain went away after a couple of sessions, I realized how important it was to find the right osteopath, so I asked my team for help finding OKC’s top ones to share with you! So, if you’ve been putting off that doctor’s appointment for far too long, keep on reading!
What is the average cost of an osteopath in Oklahoma City?
The average cost of seeing an osteopath in Oklahoma City ranges from $100 to $140 per session. This varies depending on the doctor’s expertise and credentials, the type of treatment required, and whether it’s a first-time or follow-up check-up.

Business hours: Monday to Friday: 7:45 AM to 4:45 PM
Sabrina Schrader was recommended to us for her 30+ years of osteopathic practice, making her one of the most experienced candidates in OKC.
She’s also board-certified in family medicine and trained in osteopathic manipulation and cranial osteopathy. Our interviewees cited this extensive background as the factor that cemented their confidence in Schrader’s osteopathic techniques and overall care.
Previous patients also praised Schrader’s bedside manner, saying that they felt genuinely cared for during their sessions. For instance, she advises her patients on preventive measures, which shows that her concern extends beyond the four walls of her office.
In addition to helping patients with nutrition and exercise, she also practices manipulation expertly, which clients have reported is effective in alleviating pain. They also shared how her manual pressure doesn’t feel painful, which is a testament to her tenure.
She’s also affiliated with SSM Health St. Anthony, which is known for excellent patient care. However, processes in larger institutions like this can lead to long wait times and inconvenient appointment procedures.
Thorough, caring, and genuinely concerned
“Dr. Schrader is thorough, caring, and genuinely concerned about each one of her patients. She spends time with each of us, listening to our needs, not worrying about the time. I love that about her. She is the best doctor I’ve ever had.”

Patients shared that this extensive experience was evident during consultations, as she quickly provided diagnoses and explained their conditions clearly. They also noted that she nurtures an environment that’s open to questions and takes the time to answer them patiently.
Hancock was also praised for her exceptional osteopathic manipulative treatment skills, which helped patients improve mobility, alleviate pain, and promote a better overall quality of life.
It’s also noteworthy that she doesn’t resort to narcotics immediately and always finds ways to help patients through her manipulation and supportive therapies.
Our interviewees also liked how Hancock approaches each patient individually, listens attentively to their worries, and provides follow-up care when needed.
The only thing that could deter potential customers is that she’s not strictly an osteopath as she focuses on pain management and rehabilitation.

“I have been a patient of Dr. Hancock’s for going on 3 years. I have monthly appointments and am really impressed with Dr. Hancock and the treatment she delivers. The impact on the quality of my life has been immeasurable. It has shown up mostly in my mobility and range of motion.
I would also like to thank her staff for being top-notch. Loni is always pleasant, polite, and professional.
Always has time for me, not just as a patient but as a person as well. Cindy is another who is wonderful to deal with when I’m there. She has never failed to make me feel better after visiting with her.

Went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable
“I can’t say enough positive things about my experience with Dr. Hancock! From the moment I walked into her office, I felt an immediate sense of relief. Dr. Hancock’s calming demeanor made what I had dreaded—the needle EMG—almost painless and completely manageable.
I had heard countless horror stories about how nerve-wracking these procedures can be, but she truly went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable throughout the process.
Her small staff is equally impressive—efficient and knowledgeable about insurance, which meant no surprises or hidden costs.
It’s refreshing to find a medical office that prioritizes patient comfort and clarity over a flashy, commercial setup. Dr. Hancock took the time to listen, diagnose, and explain everything thoroughly, making me feel valued and cared for.
If you’re looking for a personable, professional doctor who genuinely cares about her patients, I highly recommend Dr. Hancock. I couldn’t be happier with my experience and the opportunity to interact with her. Thank you, Dr. Hancock, for making a potentially stressful visit so positive!”

Many of our respondents recommended Peter Chan because he’s great at caring for patients of all ages, from newborns to seniors. They shared that although he changes his approach, depending on the age, his calming and empathetic bedside manner stays the same.
We attribute his expertise in treating a wide range of patients to his 40+ years of clinical experience. He’s also a family medicine doctor, which can deter some potential patients, but also allows him to assess patients holistically.
Previous patients still praised Chan for his extensive osteopathic training, which includes manipulative therapy. They added that their body pain went away after a couple of sessions, while athletes reported that their range of motion returned to normal.
Chen is also praised for his exceptional communication skills. His patients reported feeling at ease because he explained their conditions clearly and was open to questions.
Also, because he is a family medicine doctor, he was also open to providing preventative measures, such as changes to lifestyle and diet.
