Choosing an elementary school can feel overwhelming because every child learns differently. And the transition from preschool often brings new academic and social expectations.
You may prefer a traditional classroom, a faith-based program, or a homeschool option with stronger administrative support.
Finding the best elementary schools in Oklahoma comes down to matching the curriculum, daily structure, tuition, and family responsibilities with your child’s needs.
We visited some of the highly regarded learning institutions in the city you might consider for your child’s education.

1. Christian Heritage Academy

Website: https://www.cha.org/
Address: 4400 SE 27th Street, Del City
Contact: (405) 672-1787
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
What stands out to us about Christian Heritage Academy is how clearly their elementary program grows with the student.
They serve kindergarten through grade 6, with grades 1 to 3 focused on reading, writing, arithmetic, and reasoning in a structured setting.
Grades 4 to 6 build on those foundations through a deeper core curriculum, biblical reasoning, public speaking, and leadership opportunities.
Every elementary student receives art, music, and physical education, while field trips, special days, fine-arts experiences, and age-appropriate extracurriculars extend classroom learning.
We appreciate that daily Bible instruction and weekly chapel are central to the school’s model.
However, their programs won’t suit families looking for a secular or religiously neutral elementary education.

Started here in the 4th grade
Our daughter is in 7th grade at CHA. She has made deep connections with the Teachers and Administrative Staff. She started here in the 4th grade and is challenged academically in ways the public school she was attending was not able to do (granted it was early in her education experience). Teachers have dedicated training time weekly and they invest in their educators. We love the biblical values taught and the community feel of the school. It is a Christ-centered school and the curriculum and extra-curricular activities model that philosophy.

The staff and faculty are amazing!
My family is new to CHA this year and we love it! We have 6 children attending and I am employed at CHA. The Lord is at work in this school and has His hand upon it. The staff and faculty are amazing! We have felt so welcomed and loved here.

2. Chisholm Creek Academy

Website: https://www.chisholmcreekacademy.org/
Address: 8701 N Kelley Avenue
Contact: (572) 205-8723
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Chisholm Creek Academy uses a noticeably different elementary model built around mixed-age studios, individualized learning plans, daily Socratic discussions, and learner self-governance.
Their students work on quest-based projects in areas such as art, engineering, coding, and gardening. They also share progress through public exhibitions and portfolio reviews.
A parent we spoke with liked how the self-directed format encouraged her daughter to explore science more deeply.
The school publishes a no-homework policy and says they don’t teach to standardized tests, placing more weight on mastery during the school day.
That approach is also the main consideration because families who prefer a more traditional learning approach may find this academy’s model too unconventional.

Definitely check out CCA
Chisholm Creek Academy has been a phenomenal experience for my 13 year old. Rigorous academics (their writing program is particularly spectacular) paired with life skill development. I love that they help kids learn how to be independent thinkers and doers, support out-of-the-box thinking, and challenge the kids to explore and build their own futures, instead of just going through the motions. If you’re looking for a school that will allow your child to grow, stretch, and succeed, definitely check out CCA.

They are both reading well above grade level
We are so happy with Acton Academy for our children. In their old school, they had to sit in a desk and listen to a teacher talk, and they felt bored and disengaged. Since starting at Acton Academy, our children are learning to BE, DO and LEARN and come home from school excited, happy and full of energy. Bonus, they are both reading well above grade level and are confident in math and are great writers!! We are so glad to have this option!

Address: 19201 N Western Avenue, Edmond
Contact: (405) 216-5400 | Fax: (405) 216-5700
Hours: Monday-Friday school day, 8:15 AM – 3:45 PM
Keystone Adventure School & Farm is an art-based elementary school on a 15-acre working farm in Edmond.
Their students start the day in the pasture, feeding and caring for animals and cleaning the area. Then, they move into multi-age classrooms for math, reading, writing, science, history, and geography.
Student-driven projects, an organic garden, and regular outdoor time make the school day feel distinctly hands-on.
This farm school caters to a maximum class size of 18 and includes physical education, art, computer and technology, and music and movement.
The practical limitation is that they don’t offer before- or after-school care, which may be difficult for parents whose workday extends beyond those hours.

Unlike anything else you can find in Oklahoma
This school is incredible! My son really came out of his shell at Keystone. The staff and teachers are absolutely top notch and I would never hesitate to recommend Keystone to anyone. The approach that the founders Jenny and John have taken is unlike anything else you can find in Oklahoma. I look forward to more years with Keystone and know that we will have lifelong memories both my son as I as we made great friends here.

4. American Academy National Home School / National Homeschool

Website: https://www.nationalhomeschool.com/
Address: 3616 SW 119th Street
Contact: (405) 691-8012
Hours: Flexible homeschool schedule
American Academy National Home School gives families a structured way to choose home education without having to build the entire program alone.
Their Christian elementary program covers grades 1 to 5 and uses self-instructional print materials, with Ignitia online coursework available from grade 3 onward.
The school’s curriculum covers mathematics, English, science, social studies, language arts or word building, and faith-based study.
On top of that, parents receive training and a homeschool manual. Their staff supports curriculum distribution, report cards, transcripts, recordkeeping, and academic questions.
The main practical consideration is that a parent or designated adult must supervise lessons consistently. Thus, families should make sure they can provide that daily commitment.
5. Westminster School

Website: https://www.westminsterschool.org/
Address: 600 NW 44th Street
Contact: (405) 524-0631 | Fax: (405) 528-4412
Hours: Connect with them for accurate class schedules
Westminster School gives their grades 1 to 5 a clear developmental progression. The first graders are readers, second graders are scientists, third graders are historians, fourth graders are creators, and fifth graders are leaders.
Their students work across art, music, physical education, French, technology, and library. Plus, the core curriculum builds reading-to-learn habits, number sense, mathematical problem-solving, and scientific experimentation.
In fact, during a campus tour last fall, we liked watching fourth graders tackle larger collaborative projects with real enthusiasm.
We also appreciate their After School Club that runs on school days until 5:50 PM. This can help working families, but it costs $160 per month plus a $50 enrollment fee.
Additionally, the tuition fee is relatively high: $18,335 for grades 1 to 4 and $18,940 for grade 5, with some additional fees.
