When my nephew was old enough for preschool, my brother asked my team for help finding the best learning institution in Oklahoma City. At the time, my nephew was extremely timid, as his parents opted to have him tutored at home.
Years later, my once shy nephew became confident enough to read storybooks in front of the whole class! This immediately made me realize the importance of finding the right learning environment for kids at this age.
So, if you’re ready to tow your little one into his first learning stage, you’re in the right place. Read on to discover Oklahoma City’s top preschools that hone young minds into future leaders!
What is the average cost of preschool in Oklahoma City?
The average preschool tuition fee in Oklahoma City ranges from $500 to $1,200+ per month. This varies depending on the school’s programs, facilities, schedule, etc.
1. Primrose School of NW Oklahoma City

Location: 6101 NW 139th St.
Contact: +1 405-721-2200
Business hours: Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Primrose School of NW Oklahoma City remains one of the top choices for parents in the city. Though its status as a premium early education centre means higher tuition fees, we gathered stellar feedback regarding their service.
Parents we spoke with didn’t regret enrolling their children here due to its patented curriculum and highly caring teachers.
Regarding the curriculum, the school uses Primrose’s patented Balanced Learning, which combines teacher-guided instruction and child-initiated play. From what we’ve gathered, this approach helps children build foundational academic and character skills.
Furthermore, it has plenty of enrichment subjects that help children become familiar with the arts, music, athletics, etc.
Primrose is also fantastic at fostering a welcoming and safe environment for preschoolers, thanks to its passionate teachers who genuinely care for their students.
It’s also much appreciated that they keep parents updated regarding their students’ performance in school. As a result, parents feel more connected with their kids’ learning experience.
All the teachers are so loving and caring
“I recommend Primrose to everyone I know and meet! My daughter has been going there since she was 3, and I honestly wish I had signed her up even earlier.
All the teachers are so loving and caring, and the entire staff knows each child by name, which truly makes it feel like a family. Mrs. A is the sweetest owner—her warmth and dedication shine through everything they do.
My daughter absolutely loves it and even gets upset when school is closed for public holidays! We’ve had such an amazing experience, and I couldn’t ask for a better place for my new baby to join soon.”

No less than superhuman
“We’ve been taking our two kids here for three years and don’t plan to stop. The success of this school starts at the top with Ms. A and appears to have infected the entire staff. The front staff never stops smiling and being helpful, no matter if your parents’ brains have failed you.
Don’t get me started with the teachers. They are no less than superhuman. I sometimes question how they endure all day with kids being kids. It blows my mind. Trust me, this is not your average school; you will get your money’s worth twofold.”

2. La Petite Academy on N. Warwick Dr

Location: 12100 Warwick Dr.
Contact: +1 877-271-6466
Business hours: Monday to Friday: 6:15 AM to 6:00 PM
Even though La Petite Academy’s feedback is fewer than what we typically prefer, we still highly recommend it. The preschool emphasizes hands-on learning through play-based activities, which explains why the parents we spoke to said that their kids always came home smiling.
We also like the curriculum’s well-roundedness, as it integrates science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). A prime example of this is the use of simple tools for problem-solving.
The school doesn’t fall short on playtime as well, offering both indoor and outdoor areas that help develop character and motor skills simultaneously. Parents we spoke to shared that their usually timid kids would start to come out of their shell after a couple of weeks at school.
Finally, safety is a priority for families here, and the SproutAbout app is a real game-changer.
It offers true peace of mind with features like real-time streaming in both classrooms and common areas, allowing parents to stay connected and see how their little ones’ day is going.
Really cares about your children
“We have been at La petite for over 3 years. It is a special place. They have a great curriculum and the staff really cares about your children. Ms. Ashleigh is the early preschool teacher and she is wonderful.
My daughter loves her. Ms. Toya, the director, is fantastic and very professional. Ms. Toya has cared for both my girls, and she has many years of experience. I highly recommend this learning center.”

Love my girls as if they were their own
“I absolutely love this facility! My girls have been going there since they were born. From the director to each and every staff member, they love my girls as if they were their own.
It’s hard as a mother to leave your children in someone else’s hands, but with this facility, they made it an easy option.
They even have apps that show your child in the classroom. From the first tour we had till today, I’m so happy with the choice that we made. Five stars isn’t enough. I love 7621.”

3. Will Rogers Head Start Center

Location: 1621 SW 15th St.
Contact: +1 405-634-4365
Business hours: Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
We highly recommend Will Rogers Head Start Center because of its accessibility. For starters, it’s federally funded, meaning its tuition fees are either free or extremely affordable for low-income families.
It’s not just a preschool per se, but a family support centre, which is why students can also avail of free medical screening services. Furthermore, struggling families are eligible for social services support.
Parents we spoke to were also satisfied with their children’s learning experience, as the school offers a more personalized approach. They added that the teachers helped identify their kids’ strengths and weaknesses to provide tailored teaching.
It’s also admirable how the teachers encourage parent-student engagement by regularly involving parents in goal and activity planning. Furthermore, teachers would regularly report to parents regarding their child’s progress in school.
The most common downside of federally-funded institutions like these is a long waitlist, so it may not be the easiest school to get into.
Definitely recommend!
“My child has been attending Will Rodgers for 1.5 years, and it’s the best. My child has a speech delay, and they have helped her expand her vocabulary so much, and she is also able to attend therapy on-site. Definitely recommend!”

4. POSH Kids Development Center

Location: 210 NE 38th Terrace C
Contact: +1 405-673-3363
Business hours: Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Although POSH Kids Development Center operates at a much smaller scale, it’s still an excellent option for parents looking to develop their kids’ characters and skills holistically.
It doesn’t just offer academics that set students up for kindergarten, but also essential character-building. The latter is done through various enrichment programs that also target kids’ motor and problem-solving skills.
It’s also great that they offer activities kids can use in real life, such as gardening and cooking. What piqued our interest, however, is their American Sign Language (ASL) offering.
POSH Kids Development Center also provides daily, nutritious meals for its students. Parents who responded to our interviews shared that this helped them with their busy schedule, while giving them peace of mind that they’re getting nourishment away from home.
Lastly, they added that the school’s smaller scale allows teachers to provide personalized attention to each student, targeting their weaknesses while providing a supportive environment.
My daughter learned SO MUCH
“This school is a hidden gem in OKC. My daughter learned SO MUCH in the time she was there, and she grew as a little human.
Ms. Chantelle is a true teacher at heart, and it shows. POSH Kids Development Center was an anchor for us during a very transitional and difficult time, and we will always be grateful!”

My son loves going to school here
“We absolutely love it here! Ms. Burton is AMAZING with the kids! Not only do they have a full Pre-K curriculum, but they are also very kind and patient with the kids. You can tell she is very passionate about helping the kids any way she can, and molding them into successful adults.
My son loves going to school here, and I know he is in good hands when we drop him off. He has attended this school for a while now, and I cannot recall a single time he came home with bites, marks, or bruises that are not a part of normal childhood, or were unexplained.”

5. Kiddie Academy of Edmond

Location: 430 E Covell Rd.
Contact: +1 405-960-0222
Business hours: Monday to Friday: 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM
Kiddie Academy of Edmond is one of our top picks because of its patented Life Essentials curriculum. Instead of being a strictly academic curriculum, it also builds curiosity, character, critical thinking, connection, creative expression, and confidence.
Parents we reached out to also added that their kids’ cognitive and communication skills improved greatly, thanks to the school’s group activities.
They also shared how their kids are always excited to talk about their day in school, which is a testament to the fun and nurturing environment. We also think a huge factor in this is the teachers, who are praised for their support and genuine care.
One of the best things we discovered about these teachers is their attentiveness to their students. Parents shared how their kids felt listened to, not just in academics, but in anything that they had to say.
The only issue is its slightly pricier rates. However, our interviewees stood by their decision and said that they got the best value for their money.
Top-notch educators
“We absolutely LOVE everyone at Kiddie Academy & LOVE the education our toddler receives! Everyone is so friendly & welcoming from the moment you walk through the doors.
All of the teachers we’ve had have been top-notch educators & no turnover (which says A LOT about a childcare center!).
Overall, the most important aspect to us as parents is that our toddler absolutely LOVES all of the teachers & loves coming to class every day! I cannot recommend Kiddie Academy enough to other families!!”

The facility & staff cannot be beat
“I am so thankful that I chose Kiddie Academy to prep my daughter for pre-k. She enjoyed every day and still talks about the things she learned and the friends she made.
Kiddie Academy’s values shine every day with their constant effort toward a positive experience in early childhood care and education, not to mention the facility & staff cannot be beat.”
